Mon Repos Turtle Centre

Every year, from November to March, you can experience marine turtles nesting and hatching on the beaches of Mon Repos near Bundaberg. No visit to the Burnett region is complete unless you’ve visited Mon Repos Turtle sanctuary.

The marina offers visitors to the Coral Coast a first class marina facility to access the wonders of the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Visitors can soak up the relaxed marina “feel” while enjoying fish & chips beside the river from their takeaway seafood shop.

Woongarra Marine Park

Head to the Woongarra Marine Park to find some of the most brilliant shore diving in Queensland. There’s a variety of aquatic life, including turtles, rays, various species of reef fish and coral. This is the perfect dive for any beginners.

The Hummock Lookout

Just outside of Bargara is the low-lying volcanic remnant known as “The Hummock Lookout”. The ocean is visible to the east &, to the west, the sugar fields can be seen encircling the city with the smoke stacks of the Bundaberg Distillery & Mill on the horizon.
